Relationship Difficulties:

Relationship difficulties can mean having trouble getting into a satisfying relationship or having pain, conflict and ambivalence about relationships that already exist.

I help people who are unhappily single dig into their fears about intimacy and better understand ways that they are unconsciously keeping people away and keeping themselves alone. I help them to feel safer being vulnerable so that they don't need to keep up guards against people who might be good partners. I help them to understand why they are attracted to certain kinds of people, who may chronically disappoint them, and to be able to make choices that will be ultimately much more satisfying.

I help people who are in challenging relationships to understand their partners or other family members with greater empathy, to help people hear what the other is really saying, to understand more deeply the needs, wishes and fears that they may be putting onto their partners.

I encourage people to take risks with each other in a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment.
